HEADLINE NEWS
“NO COLLIER COUNTY DWC IN NAPLES”

Is this the headline of the future? To stay active, the Club needs your help. The President is not coming back, the acting President is moving out of Florida, the Webmaster is resigning.
The 1st and 2nd VP positions have been part of the “Acting-President’s” job, who, Thank GOD, has had the full support of the rest of the board throughout.
The four of us have tried our best, but honestly, the club cannot really move forward, or be truly effective, without a fully complete board. I believe this Club serves a purpose. I believe that with a complete Board, new and “old” blood, and a little vision, this club can increase its presence and usefulness in Collier County.
The following positions are available:
- President
- 1st VP – Program
- 2nd VP – Membership
- Recoding Secretary – Minutes at both regular and Board meetings
- Corresponding secretary – sending cards and letters when appropriate
- Representatives to attend regional quarterly meetings are also needed.
If these positions remain vacant after our DWCC Election to be held at our next meeting, on a special date, Thursday November 19th, there may not be a club. No one can be expected to do a good job, doing more than one job.
Starting January 1, 2021, there will be a need for a WEBMASTER to run our website. The current Webmaster will work to affect an efficient turnover of responsibility. This is not necessarily a Board position, and therefore the person does not need to be a member of the club.
We are asking for volunteers and/or suggestions of anyone who can fill all of these positions. How important is the DWC to you? By everyone participating and doing what they can, the club will grow stronger, and will be able to do so much more. Please volunteer to run for one of the positions outlined, and keep the Democratic Women’s Club of Collier County going!

For the first time Anyone can attend and (with the 1.5 hour exception of the Gala on Friday night) the entire convention is FREE! We want as many members of the DWCC to attend as possible.
THE ELECTION will be over, and this will be a wonderful opportunity to connect with our sisters and brothers and keep the Democratic ball rolling.
We even have a couple of people who want to represent our club enough to ask for the time off from work. SO please, come and learn, and support the DWCF. Bring what you hear and learn back to our club for discussion, inclusion, and debate at a future meeting. Maybe you will be inspired!
The only requirements are:
- You send in a registration form by October the 18th (access to the form is available from the button below and on our website at dwccollier.org).
- If you have agreed to be one of our delegates, you must attend Thursday’s Convention Business Meeting so that you can vote on behalf of our Club.
*Lunchpool training is for people attending the gala only (separate virtual event). The rest of the convention will be held on zoom.
I sincerely hope to you all there for at least part of the convention,
Best wishes, Mary Alice “Molly” Cook
